Hi all,

I hope you’re doing well. I am writing to make sure you have seen and shared the Diversity in Arts Leadership (DIAL) undergraduate internship program, which I’m happy to say Americans for the Arts has worked to expand to three sites this year! This 25-year-old program—conducting in partnership with Bravo Greater Des Moines and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts—matches undergraduate students from backgrounds traditionally untapped for arts leadership with the dynamic communities in New York City, Des Moines, IA, and New Jersey; energetic host arts organizations; and business mentors to guide students’ personal and professional growth throughout the summer.  Applicants can come from anywhere, and the program is designed with Americans for the Arts Statement on Cultural Equity in mind.

To ensure an immersive and well-rounded experience, the summer includes:

The application deadline for this summer’s DIAL program is this Wednesday – and we want to make sure that the link gets out as far and wide as possible. So please point any professors, deans, students, or others you think should know about this program to http://www.americansforthearts.org/DIAL and remind them they’ve only got until Wednesday 2/13 to apply!

*If you know of folks who you think may have trouble meeting the deadline, need assistance in completing the application, or have any other questions, please ask them to email Emma Osore, Americans for the Arts’ Equity in Arts Leadership Program Manager, at eosore@artsusa.org.*

Thanks so much – Clay

PS – Are you a local or state arts agency representative who is interested in your community being a future expansion site for the Diversity in Arts Leadership program? Americans for the Arts is currently seeking more cities that currently do not have a program similar to DIAL, but that would be interested in joining the DIAL network in future years. Email Emma at eosore@artsusa.org or Clay at clord@artsusa.org to set up a time to chat!
