Hi Dana,

Thank you for reaching out with this panelist opportunity.

While I am greatly interested in participating in the review process, I cannot confirm availability for that date just yet as I am Washington, DC.

I will still share this with my network for further assistance.

Best wishes,
Lauren

Open Call for Panelists
Preserving Diverse Cultures Division
2020 Grant Advisory Panel

The Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA) is seeking panelists to review applications for two opportunities offered by the Preserving Diverse Cultures Division.

Background

Among state arts agencies, the PCA’s Preserving Diverse Cultures (PDC) Division is the most comprehensive program serving diverse communities in the nation. Established in 1979, the Division supports the creation, development and stabilization of organizations, programs, and projects whose mission and artistic work are deeply rooted in and reflective of ALANAH (African American, Latinx, Asian, Native American, and Hispanic) perspectives.

PDC support to organizations and individuals is provided through three funding opportunities: the multi-year, multi-level Strategies for Success capacity building program; the Community-Based Engagement Project grant; and Technical Assistance. These programs are significant in their design, intentionally creating long-term relationships between the Division and participating organizations through the provision of up to ten years of support for capacity building and consultation.

Panelists

We strive to convene panels of individuals who have knowledge and experience in the arts; non-profit management and community engagement as artists or administrators; and, who represent the diversity of our applicants. Panelist recommendations guide the Council in the use and distribution of public funds.

Strategies for Success

Panelists will be assigned 4-5 of the submitted applications, for in-depth review and scoring independently and then collectively make recommendations for funding during the in-person panel meetings.

Panelists must participate in an online orientation prior to receipt of assigned application materials.

Dates - Panel A: May 4-5, 2020 and Panel B: May 7-8, 2020

Location – PCA Offices, Pennsylvania State Capitol, Harrisburg, PA

Onsite meals will be provided. Lodging arrangements are made by the PCA. Panelists are reimbursed for transportation and per diem expenses.
