Hi all,
I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to provide you with the latest information about our communications to the field of arts education, particularly related to our recent blog post in response to the recent shooting at the Marjory
Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL.
Today, our latest two communications were sent to the Local Arts Education Network (read
it here) and our State Education Policy Network (read
it here). Both featured a headline article about the shooting.
You can read the blog post here, highlighting the artistic and activist response from the youth in southern Florida, including
a number of resources available for educators, arts organizations, and students on the topic. At Americans for the Arts, we view this response as the embodiment of Creative Youth Development; young people harnessing their creative capacities to drive change
in their community – and this must be celebrated.
Happy reading.
My best,
Jeff
