Subject: [Americans for the Arts] Sign Up & Spread the Word: ARTS EDxchange, new tool from Americans for the Arts

Hi all,

I hope this email finds you well. Happy New Year from all of us at Americans for the Arts! I am writing today to ensure that you knew about our newest tool – ARTS EDxchange – and to encourage you to share the news with your networks.

The history: Last summer, our interns explored the viable resources to arts education professionals available – particularly focused on research and resource sharing. They concluded that there were numerous opportunities in the broader arts/.culture sector as well as throughout the American PK-12 sector, but nothing focused primarily on arts education. Additionally, they concluded that international exchange can influence our work as practitioners, advocates, and leaders connecting a globalized learning community. At Americans for the Arts, we hope to inform our members and the arts education field through international knowledge exchange and to share our successes out into the world. In September at the International Teaching Artist Conference in New York City, hosted by Carnegie Hall, Dream Yard, and Lincoln Center Education, I was pleased to announce the beta test of the International Arts Education Research and Resource Exchange – or ARTS EDxchange. Starting on Monday, this digital platform will go live.

The Tool: Aimed at fostering engagement and collaboration between arts educators and practitioners from around the world, the ARTS EDxchange is an open source platform available to Americans for the Arts members and non-members alike. It is the first-of-its-kind international arts education listserv, allowing subscribers the opportunity to share their work with a global audience and access resources on the cutting edge of arts and cultural education.

You can sign up for ARTS EDxchange here – please feel free to share with your constituents, as well!
