Together, we will explore new paths for arts education during out-of-school time. Creative youth development (CYD) unifies a longstanding community of practice that intentionally integrates the arts, humanities, and sciences with youth development principles, sparking young people's creativity and building critical learning and life skills. This is your opportunity to hear from young people, researchers and leading programs in the field of Creative Youth Development on effective practices and ways to advance CYD to new levels of sustainability and success. |

| Samantha Joseph Youth Keynote Samantha Joseph, of West Orange, NJ is a senior in the Explorers Program at the Newark Museum. She has previously been the youth speaker at the final ceremony of the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Awards in Washington, D.C. Check out her speech here! | | Dr. Bettina L. Love
Professor of Educational Theory & Practice at University of Georgia
Dr. Love is one of the field's most esteemed educational researchers in the area of Hip Hop education for elementary-aged students. Her research focuses on how teachers and schools working with parents and communities can build communal, civically engaged, anti-racist, anti-homophobic, and anti-sexist educational, equitable classrooms. She is also the founder of Real Talk: Hip Hop Education for Social Justice, an after school initiative aimed at teaching elementary students the history and elements of Hip Hop for social justice.

Scholar and Musician
Jalea's work is at the intersection of human rights, social justice, and music. Collaborating with organizations such as the Young People's Chorus of New York City, Musicians for Human Rights, the American Classical Orchestra, Re:Naissance Opera, and UNICEF USA, he facilitates, researches and evaluates programs integrating the arts and social justice. Jalea also teaches courses in international human rights in the School of Interdisciplinary Studies at Durham College and is a sought-after singer, clinician, and conductor.

As arts education leaders come together for the Creative Youth Development Preconference, we'll be sharing the city with the Juneteenth Music Festival, Pride Fest, ComicCon, and the Denver Greek Festival. Join us as we head to Denver during this celebration of social justice, community, and art!
Along with the festivities, Denver offers countless opportunities to explore and enjoy art, from murals, museums, jazz, jam bands and symphonies. Attendees will receive free admission to five Denver museums:
