Jeff
I would like to serve on an arts ed committee if you think I would be of service. Not sure if I am clear on the differentiations between the committees and how they inter-relate. I am also interested in participating in the AEP diversity committee which I was going to reach out to Jane about.

Can u provide some insight into the various options.?

Thanks.

Hi all,

I hope this email finds you well. I am writing with a reminder that tomorrow, October 5 at 12 midnight ET, is the deadline for nominations to the Arts Education Advisory Council.

The council advises the Arts Education Program at Americans for the Arts in our work in leadership development, convenings, and policy. Meeting twice per year in-person, and monthly by phone, the council contributes to the professional development offerings, tools and resources, and guides the direction of our work. If you know of arts education professionals who are collaborative, visionary, knowledgeable, and fun, please nominate them.

More info is available here: https://www.americansforthearts.org/by-program/networks-and-councils/2018-advisory-council-nominations

Please note that we will be seeking 5 person steering committee nominations in the coming weeks for both the Local Arts Ed Network (LAEN) and State Education Policy Network (SEPN), which are separate and distinct from the Arts Education Advisory Council.

My best,

Jeff

In keeping with the Americans for the Arts Statement on Cultural Equity to support a full creative life for all, Americans for the Arts commits to championing policies and practices of cultural equity that empower a just, inclusive, equitable nation. Cultural equity embodies the values, policies, and practices that ensure that all people—including but not limited to those who have been historically underrepresented based on race/ethnicity, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, socioeconomic status, geography, citizenship status, or religion—are represented in the development of arts policy; the support of artists; the nurturing of accessible, thriving venues for expression; and the fair distribution of programmatic, financial, and informational resources. All Advisory Councils will include a cross-section of members representing a diverse range of experience. To ensure this commitment to cultural equity, the council elections process will include a combination of member voting and council appointing to elect new council members.
