Hi,

As we see the latest federal relief bill beginning to distribute funds for performance venues, museums, creative businesses and arts organizations it’s clear that arts advocacy works. I wanted to provide a final notice that this year’s National Arts Action Summit federal Issue Brief drafts are available for review and feedback now (link below), and we will continue to accept speakers recommendations until Thursday, 3/25 COB.

Lastly, individual registration for the virtual Summit is open, and the ability to receive full registration support (and waive the fee) will remain open available through Friday, April 2nd.

Thank you,
Narric

Subject: New Opportunities to Attend and Partner at National Arts Action Summit

Hi,

I’m thrilled to be able to provide you some important updates to the virtual National Arts Action Summit (NAAS) taking place a month from now.

Thanks to the commitment from this year's organizational partners—and in response to the financial challenges that many are facing due to the COVID-19 pandemic—we have announced unlimited opportunities for full registration support are available for anyone who would otherwise be unable to participate. This will, in effect, waive the registration fee for NAAS.

More advocates learning advocacy strategies and current policy priorities means a louder collective voice on Capitol Hill calling for support for the creative economy, arts education, COVID relief, and much more. The arts and culture sector remains in crisis and we need everyone at the table to make a difference.

Three other updates to the Summit this year:

  1. This year there is a new $225 partnership tier that is open to all local, state, regional and national organizations to formerly join the Summit. Partnership registration remains open throughout March.
  2. We will be posting the Legislative Issue Brief drafts the week of March 22nd for review (online here) and feedback from all arts stakeholders—ensuring that anyone who wants to offer policy feedback can do so before the briefs are finalized for the Summit.
  3. We have posted preliminary descriptions of the advocacy sessions and are seeking recommendations on speakers to discuss various federal policy issues. Each virtual NAAS session will be at least 60 minutes and will seek to present a diversity of speakers from throughout the sector. Please email speaker suggestions to Lauren Cohen (lcohen@artsusa.org).

We hope that these updates are helpful to your advocacy planning and that you’ll engage in federal advocacy this year – we need to have a loud and unified voice!

Please feel free to contact us with any questions about this year’s events.
