Dear Arts Leader,

As a member benefit, we are pleased to announce that former Massachusetts State Senate President Stan Rosenberg, who serves as a Senior Fellow for Americans for the Arts, will be in Denver for our upcoming Annual Conference.  Senator Rosenberg has agreed to participate in 30 minute block office hours with any attendee who has issues or questions around election activities, advocacy, working with your state legislature or other similar topics.

Before his public service, Senator Rosenberg worked at UMass Amherst for eight years, first as the founding Director of the Arts Extension Service and then as Director of the Community Development and Human Service Programs in the Division of Continuing Education. Senator Rosenberg authored legislation to establish the Cultural Facilities Fund, a grant program to support and maintain cultural facilities and sponsored an amendment to pave the way for state cultural districts, which help municipalities shape their own local, unique, cultural identity to encourage greater cultural development and tourism.  Further, Senator Rosenberg was a chief strategist behind a 2000 bill aimed at curtailing racial profiling, and a key leader in the battle on Beacon Hill to preserve the newly-won right of same-sex marriage in 2003.

For more information on Senator Rosenberg, please check out his bio or his blog posts

Senator Rosenberg’s availability is:   (Please do not sign up for a time if it conflicts with a standing committee meeting.)
