Subject: [Americans for the Arts] Americans for the Arts 2018 Advisory Council Nominations
Hello all!
Would you like to gain leadership experience and take your involvement with Americans for the Arts to the next level? Or do you know of an outstanding arts professional from your community whose leadership and forward thinking could benefit
the rest of the field?
Americans for the Arts wants you!
Americans for the Arts is now accepting nominations for advisory council members to serve on one of our four network councils:
Arts Education,
Emerging Leaders,
Private Sector, and
Public Art.
Incoming advisory council members serve a three-year term, from January 1, 2019 – December 31, 2021 and advise Americans for the Arts staff on programming and services, as defined by Americans for the Arts staff, in order to build a deeper
connection to Americans for the Arts membership and the arts and culture field as a whole. Specific roles may vary depending on the focus and needs of the topic area for which the Advisory Council is responsive too.
If the advisory council from your chosen network thinks you’re a good fit your name will appear of the 2018 Council Elections ballot for voting by the entire membership in late October.
Nominations close Friday, October 5th at 11:59 p.m. (EST) and can be submitted by filling out the nomination form. Members are welcome to submit nominations and nominees must be members of Americans for the Arts. For questions
about membership, please contact membership@artsusa.org.
All nominees will be notified of their standing on Monday, October 22, 2018.
Voting runs Monday, October 29, 2018 – Friday, November 16, 2018 and is restricted to members of Americans for the Arts.
New councils will be announced to the public on Friday, December 14, 2018.
For questions regarding council elections or your membership status, please e-mail membership at

Thank you,
Jacqueline
