Subject: American Express Converge Leadership Academy: Open Nominations Available Now

Hello,

As one of our valued partners, I wanted you to be the first to know about a new initiative sponsored by American Express. Our LeaderStories<http://leaderstories.org/> partner, SparkAction, is delighted to announce the 2019 Converge Academy in collaboration with the Center for Creative Leadership. The Converge Academy is a new Leadership Academy with an application process that is open to any emerging nonprofit leader located in the United States. The Academy will take place in December in Brooklyn, NY. The call for nominations runs from now until August 16 at bit.ly/converge-19<http://bit.ly/converge-19>. Click to learn more about the Academy, its unique application process and LeaderStories! We're looking for nominees who have not yet experienced an Academy - and we're hoping you can help us. Do you know any amazing leaders in the social impact space who would benefit from the Academy? The attached toolkit is designed to easily spread the word among your networks and includes copy and images for newsletters and social media.

As you may know, the American Express Leadership Academy<http://www.leaderstories.org/about> is a signature program of American Express's philanthropic priority of developing emerging nonprofit leaders. The Leadership Academy is designed to equip high potential emerging leaders from the nonprofit sector to become successful executives and help their organizations' achieve sustainable growth, effective program implementation and overall success. This comprehensive, research-based program focuses on both the inter-personal and business skills required for effective leadership. The program's curriculum includes: 360 degree evaluations and self-assessments; executive coaching; small and large group reflection and planning exercises; and networking events. Class discussions are enhanced by bringing together American Express' senior executives and established nonprofit leaders for keynote discussions. Launched in partnership with the Center for Creative Leadership in 2008, today the Academy includes other training partners from around the globe, including Ashoka Changemakers, Aspen Institute, ASU Lodestar Center, Campaign for Black Male Achievement, Common Purpose, Entrepreneurial Training for Innovative Community (ETIC), Independent Sector, Japan Philanthropic Association, Points of Light, SparkAction and Thunderbird School of Global Management. Since launching the program, we have hosted more than 130 Leadership Academy programs in countries including the U.S., U.K., Canada, India, France, Singapore, Japan, Mexico, Hong Kong, Senegal, Germany and Kenya supporting more than 4,300 nonprofit and social sector leaders.

Please reach out if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Rebecca
