Colleagues:

The St Johns Cultural Council administers the Tourist Development Tax Arts Culture and Heritage Grant Program for the St. Johns County Tourist Development Council.

We have openings for “non-resident” arts professionals.  Travel and expenses are reimbursed.  The panel will review and score approximately 40 applications in three categories.  The panel members are only responsible for scoring the applications, a computer iteration allocates the grant dollars. There will be $660,000 in the grant pool.

For the FY 2020 Grant Year (beginning October 1),  the online application deadline is June 1, the panel will meet in St Augustine for one day in mid to late July.

We use Survey Monkey Apply (formerly Fluid Review), for application submission, panel review and preliminary scoring.  The panel meets in person for applicant 3 minute “updates” and Q &A, prior to final scoring.  For the past two years, the panel has reviewed and scored 40 applications in a 9am to 1:30 pm panel meeting.

I have attached the Grant Guidelines and a “facilitator’s” script that describes how the panel meeting will proceed.

If you are interested in serving on our panel, getting a free trip to Florida (yes, I know it’s July and not winter) and learning more about how we fund Cultural Tourism,  please go to the link below.  The Grant Panel (funding panel) is an official advisory board of the County and members must go through the County process and subsequently be approved at a County Commission meeting (usually on the consent agenda).
