As a result of recent community organizing activities in the majority Latinx communities in New York's 2nd Congressional District, it has been found that these communities are sorely under-served by both medical and cultural services. The area has been plagued by the MS-13 gang, and local Latinx healthcare professionals have identified this as more a mental health crisis than a criminal justice crisis. As a response, I am lobbying the not-for-profit Northwell Health Network https://www.northwell.edu/ to create a Center for Family Medicine located in said area that includes cultural components as a core part of its practice. 

I am looking nationwide for examples of combined family medicine/cultural center practices in order to inspire them and build support for such an endeavor.
