I coordinate the annual Mostly Music in the Park concert series for Mercer Island, WA. Our concert series takes place on Thursday evenings in July and August, 7-8:30 pm, at Mercerdale Park in downtown Mercer Island.

We’re reviewing the performance agreements/contracts we use for bands in preparation for this summer’s series, so I am reaching out to ask for a few best practices related to performance agreements bands. Please see below:  

• Can you share sample performance contracts/agreements that you use for bands that perform at outdoor concert series, street festivals, etc., in your community?  
• Do you require bands/performers to carry insurance and/or a business license during their concert?
• What’s your policy for cancelling/rescheduling performances due to inclement weather or other extreme circumstances?
• Any other best practices you follow that we should know?
