Hi Clay –

This is a great tool!  I’ve used it to prepare for presentations – depending on the topic, I sometimes find interesting talking points I can integrate into the conversation.  As a rule, I generally find the overview and case studies to be more useful, as most of the data I’m likely to share focuses on state impact rather than national impact.  I’m also hesitant to share data points without first understanding the actual study being cited (in case I’m asked to justify any of the reported numbers).

We have a statewide conference on placemaking coming up next month, for which I’ve created a resource sheet.  The Arts + Social Impact Explorer tool is one of the resources I’m excited to share with participants.  I believe its unique, playful and visually appealing presentation provides easy access into arts metrics and support stories for those who are not directly involved in the arts, but who may have interest in learning its potential to support other community development-based work. I appreciate any tools that effectively enable those outside our field to more fully understand arts relevance and impact.

I hope this is helpful!  Lisa

Subject: [Americans for the Arts] Seeking examples of using the Arts + Social Impact Explorer

Hello all!

We’re trying to get more deliberate about gathering examples of how agencies, advocates, public officials and arts organizations have used the Arts + Social Impact Explorer. Do you have such an example? It can be about casemaking, education, prepping for a meeting, prepping for an interview, educating decisionmakers, showcasing impact---whatever you’ve got, we’re interested in learning more!

If you could, please email only me back (no need to cc the world!) with just a bit of information, that would be great—we may highlight your work in one way or another over the coming months as we encourage people to use the Explorer more.

Thanks all!

Clay
