Good Morning,

I wanted to share with you all a graphic that our colleague, Lauren Cohen, on our government affairs team here at Americans for the Arts created last year. The Americans for the Arts Federal Legislative Priorities for the 116th Congress graphic demonstrates the different active pieces of legislation that have an arts component that we pursued in 2019—a larger scope than we have in the past.

We saw federal funding resources provided (or increased) in each of these five areas:

National Endowment for the Arts—a $7.25 million increase;
Arts Education—$29 million provided;
Creative arts therapies through Department of Defense;
Creative arts therapies through Veteran Administration—$5 million provided; and
Arts and Juvenile Justice through U.S. Department of Justice.
