😷 Updates to our COVID-19 Policies 😷

We promised to update our attendees on any changes to our COVID-19 policies, so we would like to share the following development.

The health and well-being of our attendees, presenters, and the Orlando community remains our top priority. We have been informed that the COVID-19 policies for our event cannot exceed the current policies of the state of Florida.

We believe that a core tenet of public health is collective action for the common good, and we encourage our in-person attendees to take steps to protect the most vulnerable among us.

While we cannot require vaccinations or masking, our COVID-19 mitigation strategies will include:

  • All attendees and presenters are encouraged to be vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19 and the omicron variants. (Find out how to get your latest booster here.)
  • Participants and staff are encouraged to wear masks indoors.
  • Socially distanced seating will be available in Steinmetz Hall, including a section for those who prefer to remain masked.
  • Outdoor areas will be available for meals provided during the convening.

Convening Coordinator Aly Maier Lokuta has completed the WHO COVID-19 Mass Gatherings Risk Assessment Training and will be actively monitoring, assessing, and mitigating risk for the spread of COVID-19 at this event.

Our latest Risk and Mitigation Assessment ranks the risk of this event as LOW according to the WHO Risk Matrix.

We will monitor and adapt to the latest guidance as the event approaches and communicate if these guidelines change.

If this change impacts your ability to join us in-person, please reach out to Lauren Keiser at lkeiser@ufl.edu

🏨 Hotel Discounts End Tomorrow 🏨
