Subject: ANNOUNCEMENT: Asphalt Art Initiative grant opportunity open for North American cities

Today we opened a new opportunity for cities in Canada, Mexico, and the United States to apply for Asphalt Art Initiative grants up to $100,000 to help improve street safety, activate public spaces, and engage community residents.

Since launching in 2019, the initiative has supported 90 projects in North America and Europe, achieving impressive results at the local and neighborhood scale, with $25,000 grants. Based on this success, grants for this fifth round of the Asphalt Art Initiative will increase to up to $100,000 each, inviting even larger and more ambitious traffic safety and public space projects with the potential for catalytic impacts.

North American cities with a minimum population of 50,000 are invited to apply by January 31, 2025. Up to ten winning cities will be announced in Spring 2025, with selected projects planned for installation in 2025 and 2026.
