Hello Local Arts Network! Hope you are all having a fabulous Friday!

I’m writing to share a quick update on the launch of the Rural Arts Network. As many of you know, we launched the network in June at Convention in Denver. Our first meeting included sharing the plans for the year ahead which involve setting up a steering committee and inviting folks to join the RAN listserv in addition to a quarterly offering of focused trainings. The Rural Arts Network recognizes and embraces the long standing tradition of community based arts work and reestablishes a platform within Americans for the Arts for rural focused voices.

Two actions items for you today:

  1. If you are in a rural location or serving a rural population, we invite you to join the listerv. Log in to your member account and you can review and update your listserv memberships.
  2. We are looking for 5-7 volunteers to serve a one-year term starting now through June 30, 2019. The steering committee will work with me to inform and guide program planning for the coming year. We meet via video conference line for one hour on a recurring monthly basis. If you are interested, please email me at rharper@artsusa.org by August 10.

Thank you for all you do and hope you all have a great weekend…

Best regards,

Ruby
