LANGSTON comes to mind. Housed in the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center, and kicking off under the leadership of Tim Lennon,
LANGSTON is the new non-profit arts organization created to continue the mission of the historic Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute.
On another note, Tracie, nice to “see” you again. I enjoyed our chat in Chicago a few years ago, and am happy to know you’re now at The Joyce Foundation. I hope our paths cross again!

I am doing some quick research and I am seeking your input. Do any of your cities have/do you know of cities that have a sustainable African American arts organization that is:
- Anchored by performing arts
- Housed in meaningful space
- Positioned to attract large audiences
- Provide additional programming to attract other sources of revenue
If yes, can you please send the names of these organizations my way?
