Kristen,

We just went through this research.  I’ve attached a sample contract showing what we ended up with.   In this case, the City was borrowing artwork for a special event.  Some of the language may be useful to you.

I’m thankful to my fellow Art Coordinators for sharing their agreements which helped when drafting ours.

Good luck!

Subject: Sculpture on Loan Program - Liability Policies

Hello,

Our City is working on updating our sculpture on loan program policies, specifically those around liability to the City for sculptures on display, insurance coverage paid by the City vs. by the Artist, responsibility for repairs if sculptures are damaged, etc. If anyone is able to share their municipality’s sculpture on loan program policies regarding these issues, I would be most grateful.

Thank you!

Kristen
