Colleagues, here in st Augustine there was a local organization that produced two events. Attached is the narrative of their grant application. First one got hurricane out , second one was successful but the volunteers got on to other things.

Note this was funded through our bed tax grant program so the focus was on marketing.
However, they do reference many other chalk walks in the region that may still be viable.
I do know Sarasota had a very large event a few years ago.
Also note that if you are looking at 3-D trompe l’oile works you need vertical viewing areas not just sidewalk or pavement levels

There’s a non-profit here in Sacramento that has been organizing a sidewalk chalk festival annually since 1991 called Chalk It Up https://chalkitup.org/ . Feel free to let them know our office recommended you speak with them. I’ve lost track of who’s running things over there, but I think they would be a good resource for you to speak with:
