We did have some problems in the past with the issue of plaques that we make coming up missing. We now use a combination of methods to denture this. The only problem being, that if we here at MCS have to go back and remove the work for any reason we also have a heck of a time removing our own work. But daylight and power tools coupled with the fact that we are supposed to be their helps in the removal.

Amanda & Fiona:

I don't have any specific vendor recommendations, but do want to raise a related materials question.

In our area of the country, it is not uncommon to find bronze plaques and even parts of bronze sculptures stolen by vandals who (it is conjectured) scavenge the metal for its recycled value.  We have recommended artists use less valuable metals in cast plaques (e.g. cast aluminum) when such substitutions are not incompatible with the work itself.

Has anyone else experienced this problem in your area?

Hi All! We need to get bids for a project including around 30 bronze plaques. We’d love your recommendations for dependable companies who can provide reasonable bids. Also your best ideas for how to mount these (permanently) on concrete pads that will be supporting the sculptures for this project.

Thankyou so much!
