Since any professional liability (errors and omissions) policy written to cover fine artists is likely to be junk (PL policies generally are written to cover people who are subject to license requirements), we have found that if PL is required by the city, the artist should partner with an engineer or architect and the artwork would be covered by their PL policy. Sometimes an artist can be considered part of a design team and covered under their PL policy.Julia Muney MooreDirector of Public ArtArts Council of Indianapolis924 N. Do any of you have examples of a policy like this? We have found that the insurance requirements needed by the City of Memphis can be a real cost burden to artists over the life of a project, and wanting to make that a bit easier if possible. Thanks in advance for any thoughts you can send our way!--Best,Lauren KennedyExecutive Director :: UrbanArt Commission422 N.
