Hi Marjorie, et al

I would also recommend checking out the webinar “Demystifying the Public Art Deaccession Process” presented by Sherri Brueggemann, Manager of the Public Art Urban Enhancement Program for the City of Albuquerque Cultural Services Department. She discusses her program’s tested decommission process and you can find a copy of it and other resources in the associated tabs once logged in for the webinar: https://artsu.americansforthearts.org/products/demystifying-the-public-art-deaccession-process

All of our public art-related online trainings can be found here: https://artsu.americansforthearts.org/publicart

Hey Marjorie,

We recently completed our deaccession policy – and test drove it last year with four deaccessions.  You can find the policy here. Please let me know if you have any questions.

All the best,

Elise

Subject: Deaccession plans?

Hi PAN,

Austin AIPP is beginning to plan for deaccession DURING the commissioning process to help our future PAN colleagues (lucky them)!  How will we sustainably and appropriately deaccession artworks?  Please tell me about any codified or uncodified deaccession plans in your programs?  What is your strategy on why and how to deaccession artwork? Who weighs in on these decisions?

Thank you for your thoughts!

Marjorie
