Here’s a bit more info on FY2020 deadlines:
The NEA’s FY2020 dates posted online for Art Works and Challenge America should reflect the upcoming 2019 deadlines for FY2020 programming. (Art Works=Feb and
July 2019, Challenge America =April 2019)
And, you are correct that the Our Town and Research deadlines still show Fall 2018 dates on our website. Those will be updated soon—the deadlines for those programs
are typically announced just a little later in the year. The program information is included in our annual schedule of grants for organizations now as opportunities that will be available, but deadlines will be updated for those two programs just as soon as
they are announced. For example, the Our Town annual deadline and guidelines are typically posted in April/May.
Also, one other piece of info, in case it is helpful for the group. For anyone that is not already subscribing to the NEA’s agency and discipline newsletters,
you can subscribe to any/all of them on our website
here—which will make sure that you receive updates on program deadlines and guidelines throughout the year.

The first deadline for FY2020 is in February 2019, for the Art Works program. Information on the Art Works Local Arts Agencies program is available below.
Art Works
First FY2020 Deadline: February 14, 2019 (for projects beginning no earlier than Jan. 1, 2020)
Second FY2020 Deadline: July 11, 2019 (for projects beginning no earlier than June 1, 2020)
Art Works is the National Endowment for the Arts’ principal grants program. Through project-based funding, we support public engagement with, and access to, various forms of excellent art across the nation, the creation of art that meets the highest standards of excellence, learning in the arts at all stages of life, and the integration of the arts into the fabric of community life. Projects may be large or small, existing or new, and may take place in any part of the nation’s 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories. Matching grants generally will range from $10,000 to $100,000. For local arts agencies, all project types—including programming, services to the field, and subgranting—are accepted at both deadlines.
