Today Americans for the Arts released new research including an updated Local Arts Agency Salaries, Compensation, and Demographics survey. The survey data specific to Public Art can be found here, which updates the information found in the 2013 LAA Salary Survey (Public Art data found on page 43). The new data dives deeper into the cross-sections of salary, benefits and demographics including gender, region and education to provide context for LAAs as they evaluate and consider equitable policies, practices, and representation.

Two other reports released today include:

LAA Profiles - In 2018, Americans for the Arts commenced the Profile of Local Arts Agencies, a new annual survey designed to illuminate the ever-adapting role of local arts agencies (LAAs). The Profile will annually track and examine trends in the programs, budgets, and operations of the LAA.
Grantmaking & Equitable Investment - This report reviews results from the 2018 Local Arts Agency Profile Equitable Investment module, which was completed by 537 local arts agencies (LAAs) across the United States. It focuses on how, when, and where LAAs currently consider equity in the deployment of their funds, time, space, and staff.

NEW! Interactive Dashboard

For those who want to see how their LAA stacks up statistically against similar LAAs from across the country, they should use the new online and interactive Local Arts Agencies Dashboard. Users can search, sort, and compare the programs, services, and policies of the 537 LAAs that completed the 2018 Profile of Local Arts Agencies. Graphs can be customized based on characteristics like budget, service area population, legal status, or state.
