I just saw Andre Tourrette from Troco Custom Fabricators in St. Louis and asked him your question. He said that cutting ½” stainless steel is definitely in their wheelhouse.

Peggy,
Maybe you should have some text panels cut. With laser with is less costly the level of elaboration of the cuts is limited. With water jet you can do more.
If these panels are at street level you may also want to limit how small the elements can be so that they cannot be vandalized.
Additionally an active building department may want certain sized openings over others as well as the panels to be operable from the inside of the building.
Thanks

I am working on a project that is recommending the use of ½” laser cut stainless steel for about 20 first floor window panels on a prominent building. Each panel will feature part of a narrative that wraps three sides of the building and needs to have 50% negative space for transparency. Does anyone have an example of ½” stainless steel being used for a public project?
Thank you.
