The Florida Sunshine Law prohibits any gathering, whether formal or casual, of two or more members of the same board or commission to discuss some matter on which foreseeable action will be taken by the public board. If such a meeting is not publicly noticed or the public is precluded from attending in any way, City business may not be discussed. Please note that under Florida’s very broad public records law, email communications to and from public officials are subject to public disclosure.
Hi PAN Listserv,
This week, Americans for the Arts and The Barr Foundation are pleased to share Programs Supporting Art in the Public Realm: A National Field Scan.
As definitions of public art broaden to include social and civic practice, cultural agencies and funders are responding by supporting more place- and issue-specific work as well as cross-sector collaborations. The Scan offers snapshots of 28 programs supporting and building capacity for artists to work in the public realm and highlights overarching themes. Detailed summaries from interviews with seven selected programs provide additional insights. The report is offered in the spirit of advancing field dialogue about supporting artists working in the public realm.
The Scan was conducted in 2018 to inform future directions of the New England Foundation for the Arts’ (NEFA) Creative City program. The Creative City Report and videos highlighting Creative City’s value and impact in Boston can be found at: https://www.nefa.org/CreativeCityLearning.
