Michelle,

Have you met David Jones or Ashley Carlisle yet? They are wonderful people and very talented artist there in Laramie. They booth teach sculpture at the university.

PS

I would place some parameters in your call to artist but you can go over any firm stipulations once you have your finalist.

Just a thought

Congratulations on your new job.

Subject: considerations for artist call

Hi all,

This is my very first question to you all.  I am the new director of the Laramie Public Art Coalition in Laramie, WY.

My board and I trying to decide if the following language is too restrictive for a mural call:

"Designs cannot include political or religious content; any breach of intellectual property; trademarks; images of illegal activity; advertisements; logos; signage; promotion of any business, organization, individual, or product; or involve the attachment of objects to the surfaces"

Can you provide me with the pros and cons of including such language in an artist call?  I am borrowing it from a call I found on CaFE.

Thanks so much,

Michelle
