There are some great tools out there! I'll put a plug in for the company for which I work—Artwork Archive. We have Public Profiles for showcasing your collection. There are a few advantages of having an account with us which I will list below, but I am more than happy to jump on the phone and chat, or give you a virtual tour of our tools! And, I'll gladly connect you with some of the public art programs that are using our Public Profile platform.
- Public Profile: Easy way to share and showcase your collection. With a few clicks of a button you can decide what information is publicly viewable. Viewers can search by collections and artist. We have a "mini blog" News section where you can post updates/announcements. You can embed the Public Profile on your website. We host it on our Discovery platform which has over 100,000 monthly visitors including artists, curators, collectors and collecting institutions.
- Organizational tools: The Public Profile is one part of our platform. It is connected to your inventory account where you can track all sorts of information related to your collection—provenance details, images/video, locations, contacts (artists, installers, donors, etc), maintenance records, commissions/donations/de-accessions. You can also easily create reports like inventory sheets, budget reports, wall labels, invoices, etc. And since we are cloud-based, all of this is accessible from any device as long as you have an internet connection. Multiple people can log in at a time; you're not tethered to one desktop.
- Affordability: Our plans start at $24/month for organizations and we offer a lifetime 30% discount to nonprofits since everyone on the team is either an artist, art admin, or collector, and passionate about making the arts more accessible to the public.
- Data transfer: If you have your collection details in a spreadsheet or in another system, we can easily migrate your data over so that you can populate the Public Profile without hassle or much effort.
