Hi Catherine, Sacramento is showing (until February 2020) some of Jorge Marin’s sculptures, Wings of the City, in our downtown area and has worked with the Mexican Consulate in this effort.  Marin is based in Mexico City and is a contemporary Mexican artist who primarily creates contemporary bronze figurative sculptures.  There’s been a good response to the work and Marin’s staff has been easy to work with.  Here is his website:

Feel free to contact me directly if you want to discuss or have other questions about Marin’s work.

Best,

Donald

Subject: Looking for public artists from Mexico

We have a developer interested in working with a public artist residing in or from Mexico. The artist should be well-established with a strong resume including work in museum, private, and public collections. They are seeking a style that is not in the context of craft or folk-art and can integrate into a contemporary streetscape.

Please forward recommendations!

Many thanks,
