Dear Colleagues,

The Pittsburgh International Airport is gearing up for a new airside terminal. I am fortunate to be working as a consultant on the project. We are seeking an artist to serve on the design team to make the experience of the roadways and bridges memorable.  Please share this call with your networks and on your artist opportunity lists.

Thank you!

Pittsburgh International Airport: Request for Qualifications
Artist and Design Team Collaboration
Terminal Roadways and Bridges
Pittsburgh International Airport, Allegheny County Airport Authority
Deadline: September 16, 2019 at 11:59 EST

Budget: $75,000 Design Fee (Phase 1 of Project)

Allegheny County Airport Authority (ACAA) is building a new terminal and multi-modal transportation complex at Pittsburgh International Airport. The result of the Terminal Modernization Program (TMP) will be an improved passenger experience and better sense of the culture and amenities of the Pittsburgh region. The conceptual framework for the facilities’ design is Nature, Technology, and Community.

The Art in the Airport Program plans to expand with the TMP, including new permanent commissions and places for temporary art and performances. The ACAA is seeking an artist to collaborate with the team of engineers and architects designing terminal roadways and bridges on a series of concrete walls, columns, and other supports connecting the new parking garage and the new terminal at Pittsburgh International Airport. The resulting project will be an integrated artwork visible to the thousands of visitors, and employees who experience the airport on a daily basis.
