Hi PAN friends,
We are now only 2.5 weeks away from our CODAsummit! I wanted to send a quick note to everyone who's still considering coming to get your tickets quickly! We only have 20 tickets left and we have some great programming for public art professionals this year!
Here are the key details... A conference for all members of the industry: Artists, fabricators, public art professionals, and many other industry professionals working in art + technology. This is going to be a diverse and intimate conference capped at 250 attendees, so you can meet who you want to meet.
Here are five reasons public art professionals shouldn't miss this year's event:
- Public Art Tour + Meet the Artists. El Paso is a beautiful city and has been commissioning public artworks that utilize new technology for years. Join the City of El Paso Museums & Cultural Affairs team as they take us around the city to see some of the amazing pieces in their collection. Bonus! Marc Fornes, Vicki Scuri, Bill Fitzgibbons, David Dahlquist, and a few other surprise artists will join us to talk about the artwork they made for El Paso and share their side of working with the community & the city.
- Commissioner's Track. This year's amazing conference program features a track just for public art professionals and art consultants. Panels include topics such as: Preservation and Maintenance of Art + Technology, Art Installation Insurance and Why We Need It, and Commissioning at the Intersection of Art + Technology.
- Commissioner's Breakfast . An informal breakfast Friday morning, presented by Philips Lighting + Signify, just for public art professionals who want to learn about the resources available to cities that are interested in large-scale LED lighting installations.
- Artist Showcases. Discover new artists working to push the limits of new media and learn how they are using technology to create placemaking art.
- Networking. Plenty of opportunities for creative networking so you can finally meet your colleagues who face the same challenges as you everyday.
Let me know if you have any questions! And I hope you'll join us this October for CODAsummit: Art, Technology and Place.
