Hello all,

Thanks to those of you that provided insight on compensation to artists for the loan of their artwork.

Hi Michelle--

There is no standard rate.  It depends on the exact terms of the loan:  for example, what support do you provide them for installation, and how long is the loan for?

We have a program here in Indianapolis that pays $5,000 for a 3-year loan but provides no installation support.  We have another program that provides $2,000 for a 2-year loan and provides staff and equipment for installation. And we have another program that pays $1,000 for a 1-year loan for a very small space that requires no special installation equipment. So it really varies.

Hope this helps!

Hello all,

I am seeking current standard monthy or annual rates for the loan of sculptures.  I am also seeking standard fees for public engagement for the artist.  I live in Wyoming and guess that the standard rate may be affected by the work being done in the Rocky Mountain region.

Additionally, what is the current perspective on paying a stipend to selection committee members for a rotating art program?

Thanks for any input you may have.

Sincerely,
Michelle
