I am working on a proposal and strategies to secure funding for maintenance and restoration of the Arts in Transit, Inc. (AIT) MetroLink public art collection. AIT is a separate 501(c) (3) that is a subsidiary of Bi-State Development in St. Louis:
Does anyone have suggestions related to or examples of securing outside funding including support from local corporations, foundations, or individuals for maintenance and restoration of a collection? I realize that a one-time grant to do necessary repairs is not the answer and am also trying to think of ways to structure funding categories, donor recognition, etc. that could help to ensure ongoing or extended support.
AIT has completed an initial assessment of the condition of its collection and is in the process now of determining cost estimates, prioritizing pieces for repair efforts and determining which pieces require the involvement of artists and/or a conservator.
If you have any suggestions, I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks!
Best,
Lynn
