PAN,

As we write the new five year plan for public art in Jacksonville, I would like to benchmark of our visual arts ecology against other metro areas.  Jacksonville Metro is 1.5 million.  Metros from 750,000 to 2.5 million are good.

Does anyone have research on the following:

Number and Description of Artists & Designers

Non-Profit and Museum Exhibition Spaces

For Profit Galleries and Art Consultants

Art and Craft Fairs / Fine Art Fairs / Artwalks

Studios and Studio Complexes

Post-High School Art Education: College, Art Centers

High School Art Programs

Consistent Funders of Visual Art and Artists

Suppliers, Fabricators and Installers

Media:  Print and Social

Special Opportunities

In my mind the art ecology in Jacksonville is suffering due to a lack of:

For profit galleries that create local collectors

A major Art and Craft Fair / Fine Art Fair

A MFA program

Consistent Art Funders / Donors

Perhaps you know of consultant or a researcher that has gathered information on a healthy art ecology.  Essays, papers, books?

Thanks for any leads.
