Hello,

We at One Columbia for Arts and Culture, are assisting the Columbia City of Women initiative for an upcoming public art opportunity. This project aims to celebrate the accomplishments of Columbia's women and the role they have played in the establishment of our city. 

We are hoping our friends in the Public Art Network can share this request far and wide. Currently we are requesting for qualifications to commission an artist or artist team to design, fabricate, and install an original work of art to be located across South Carolina State House (our state's Capitol) on a major intersection. 

Budget: $50,000
The project budget is inclusive of all project costs, including artist's fees and expenses, taxes, materials, permit fees, travel, shipping and crating, insurance fees, design, fabrication, installation/execution and transporting of the artwork to the project site.

Eligibility: 
This competition is limited to all professional artists and teams who have a personal connection to the state of South Carolina (SC) and are legally qualified to work in the US. Personal connection could be circumstances such as: have relatives or friends who reside in SC, fond memories from having visited, or have had work commissioned, installed or exhibited in SC. Artists applying should have completed at least one public art project within the past 5 years. Submissions not meeting eligibility requirements will be withdrawn from consideration.

Cover Letters, CV/Resume, Three Professional References, 10 Images of  Previous work with annotations
