Two come to mind, Beth.

1. Irrigate: "Based on a 3 year initiative created by Springboard for the Arts with the City of Saint Paul and Twin Cities Local Initiatives Support Corporation in response to disruptive construction of a light rail line through the urban core, Irrigate is a community development strategy that mobilizes the skills and creativity of local artists to create innovative, meaningful, authentic solutions to local challenges."

2. In More than Storefronts: insights into Creative Placemaking and Community Economic Development, Metris wrote about Northeast Shores Community Development Corporation's project to fund 12 creative ways for generating foot traffic during streetscaping construction on a busy commercial corridor. Kresge wrote a whole case study on Northeast Shores' arts and culture work, including the project I mentioned above.

Good luck!

I’m looking for examples of creative placemaking and public art during construction of a large multi-block site– with the goal of keeping the area activated and the other businesses supported during construction.
