Bid Notes
The City of Henderson, Nevada, is seeking Proposals for visioning, planning, funding and programming services from consultants with expertise in project management and research in the fields of public and cultural art. The individual or firm selected will
work with City of Henderson employees in an advisory and project management capacity to assist in developing and responding to the public and cultural art needs of the City, assessing and analyzing the current environment, deficiencies, and interests of the
community stakeholders as they relate to arts and culture, as well as future possibilities and opportunities for growth in these areas. The consultant will lead a cultural planning process intended to engage local artists, cultural organizations, City leadership
and residents across all neighborhoods. Their charge will be to explore ways to strengthen and improve access to the city’s existing cultural assets while suggesting new and innovative ways to expand and fund these programs.
The resulting cultural plan should provide the vision, policy framework, implementation strategies, organizational structures, funding requirements and sources needed to further develop Henderson’s cultural community, while finding ways to effectively integrate
arts and culture into other policy and practice areas. Vehicles for such integration could include public festivals, concerts, events and celebrations, films, lectures, exhibits, arts education in schools and adult learning, visual and performing arts, public
art, adaptive arts, and cultural expression. Although not always easily defined, such endeavors collectively inform how a community remembers and celebrates its past, expresses itself through diverse mediums, and how its citizens connect to their community
socially, culturally, spiritually, and emotionally. It is the hope that with a clear and focused Master Plan, Henderson’s wealth of reimagined and reinvigorated art and cultural offerings will represent the values, identity and spirit of America’s premier
community.
