Hi PAN Listserv,

This year we have two new opportunities for training, networking and knowledge sharing for the public art field!

  1. Join colleagues from across the country and the field at the 2020 Public Art & Civic Design Conference taking place June 26th – 28th in Washington, D.C.! Built on the success of the annual Public Art Preconference, the new Public Art & Civic Design Conference offers 2 ½ days to further dialogue and learning about art and design in the built environment. Conference participants will come together to exchange knowledge, connect with peers, and explore both how this work is being done and consider the future of the field. Register today!
    1. Come in a day early to join the Monument Lab: Participation and Power in Public Art Pre-Event Workshop taking place on June 25th from 2 – 6 pm. In partnership with Americans for the Arts, Monument Lab will lead a preconference workshop to explore process, participation, and power in public art. Read the full description here. Learn about registration under the “Add-ons and Tours” tab on the Registration page.

  1. New in 2020, Americans for the Arts will launch the first Public Art Leadership Forum (PAL Forum). The PAL Forum, a 2 ½ day retreat-style professional development opportunity, will provide a transformative and intensive leadership development experience for individuals in the public art field that builds leadership confidence, teaches new strategies to advance your work and unearths creativity. The PAL Forum is an opportunity to get a change of scenery, a change of schedule, and to get deep. Experience a supportive space to think out loud with peers who understand the challenges and barriers of working in the public art field. The PAL Forum will take place in Salt Lake City, UT from October 14 – 17, 2020. Due to the level of interest in previous programs, we have implemented a submission process to ensure access. I hope to see you all this year!
