Hi All,

I hope everyone is staying safe and well.

We are looking at a public art maquette competition for emerging artists and wondering if anyone has any experience with this. The idea is to identify a couple of sites, provide an info packet on those sites, and create a standardized kit with foam core, balsa wood...etc that can be distributed in partnership with a local art supply store. The artists would then have a certain amount of time to create the maquette. The maquettes would be juried with the winner potentially going on to work with an experienced fabricator to develop the project further.

Some of my questions:

How to initially select artists?
What stipends did you pay for "winning" submissions?
Have you had experience with seeing something like this through a development / build phase?
What else should we consider?

Thanks!
