Dear friends,
I hope this message finds you and your loved ones in good health and hopeful spirits. I’m writing this evening to share wonderful news with you, especially if you’ve been missing live music like I have been.
Tomorrow, May 6 at 5 P.M. CDT, tune in for the JetStream Music Festival, an online celebration of local music between 23 North American airports. The stream will take place on
Facebook Live and will feature performances from musicians representing each city. Each musician will have a virtual tip jar to which viewers can contribute during the stream.
MSP Airport is featuring John Hayes, an uber-talented pianist and producer from Minneapolis who recently joined the roster of artists who regularly perform at the airport. John’s music has been featured on several renowned radio stations
including KEXP, BBC, and James Heather's Soho Radio show "Moving Sounds." His latest album,
The Last Best Place, is a collection of 11 original compositions that will debut on May 15, 2020. I’m anxiously awaiting my
copy of his limited-edition white vinyl LP.
The stream will also highlight community organizations and resources in each city. For this event, we have chosen to direct contributions to Springboard for the Arts’
Coronavirus Artists Emergency Relief Fund. The organization’s goal is to provide $1 million in emergency relief funding to Minnesota’s creative
workers by July 1.
The full lineup for the event will be as follows (we expect John’s performance to begin at approximately 7:30pm):
Please do share this message with your contact list(s), and join us tomorrow for this one night only event!
All my best,
BEN OWEN
