Many thanks, Christine! A colleague in Oregon let me know that our colleagues who regularly deal with hurricanes are ahead of the Pacific Northwesterners on this issue. I look forward to taking a look! 😊

Hi Janae,

The Houston Arts Alliance has a department dedicated to Disaster Resilience for Artists & Non-Profits. Our region often deals with large scale weather related emergencies.

I hope you may find some resources here:

Subject: Emergency Response and Recovery Plans

Dear public art colleagues –

I’m beginning work on an emergency response and recovery plan for Washington’s State Art Collection, which spans the entire State of Washington and includes artworks of almost every type. Most of the response and recovery models I’m aware of are for museum collections, so they don’t address the unique challenges of responding to an emergency at multiple sites across a significant geographic area.

Do any of you have emergency response and recovery plans you’d be willing to share? I’d love to see how others are approaching this challenge.

Thanks!

Janae
