Bloomington, IN has a program to match artists and fabricators.  This website is old (because Sean has since left the city) but I think it gives the picture.  https://bloomington.in.gov/arts Click on "Grants, Opportunities" and scroll to the bottom of the page to read about their fabricator list.

PAN,

I am thinking to remove art production/fabrication from a high percentage of the public art projects.  I want to expand the number of artists that can be represented in the permanent and temporary exterior artworks in the City.

Does anyone have a such a program?  Can you send me links to calls to artists and images of results?

Artist does the community engagement and drawings, paintings, model, etc,  Then a City provided fabricator laser cuts the metal, casts the fiberglass, prints the vinyl cabinet wrap, cuts the dyes for light projections, etc.   The fabrication method is established for the project.
