The Mellon Foundation wants to learn about projects, programs, and initiatives across the United States that will transform our nation’s commemorative landscape and shape how our histories are told. These may include new monuments, memorials, or commemorative spaces; the removal or recontextualization of existing monuments or memorials; ephemeral or temporary installations, performances, or digital media; and/or research and policy development.
The Mellon Foundation has committed $250 million toward this effort and wants to learn from people who are already engaged in this work. If you are working on a project, we want to hear from you!
