This is a great question Kelly! I have done some research in the past with how AZ handles murals on businesses & learned from other cities that they don’t get involved in private murals, etc. I am also trying
to find a solution to fix or replace some murals we have in our historic area. I have heard from others to do have them dedicate right-of-way of the wall and affix a panel for the mural and display it but that doesn’t seem to be a mural if it is on the panel.
My problem is the same and would love to learn how other cities handle murals.

Good morning, PAN,
If you work for a city that has paid for murals on privately owned walls, what protections have you put in place so the mural is not painted over by the property owner
or destroyed if the building is sold and the new owner paints over it?
Thanks for any info!
