I would recommend the art be printed on vinyl art wraps to place on metal. the art wrsps hold up to heat water and lIght.

Subject: Parking Garage Mural: Need Best Practice Advice

You don't often get email from artinbartow@gmail.com. Learn why this is important
Hello! Thanks for any input.

We're doing a series of murals, one of each floor of a parking garage. The garage is still being built and we can't access the area until they finish. As we are in Georgia and the end date is August, we're planning to paint on panels and install rather than require our artists to work in the heat.

I've been given three completely different ideas and am looking for suggestions or best practice. Each mural is 11 feet wide by 7 feet tall. We're planning to cut down 3 4x8 panels to get the final 11x7 size.

1. Use plywood, seal it and have the artists paint directly on it.
2. Use aluminum and have the artists paint directly on it
3. Have the artists create a painting 22"x44" and scan it and have it digitally printed on metal (shinyprints.com).

Any help? The top level of the parking garage is not covered and all three levels get some direct sun at some point each day.
