Good afternoon, everyone –

We have been seeing proposals for public artworks being generated using such AI art platforms like Midjourney (they put in a sentence or two from the artist call and create!)

This is ethically conflicting with artists who are creating original designs for artworks without the use of AI programs.

There is also the question of copyright; artists do not own the artwork created, as I believe was recently ruled by the US copyright office (I am quoting a Wired Magazine article:  https://www.wired.com/story/ai-art-copyright-matthew-allen/ ).

I would appreciate if others are dealing with this issue, and what steps you may have taken.

Kim
