Dear Americans for the Arts Members,

My name is Tsipi Ben-Haim. I am the Founder, Executive, and creative Director of CITYarts, a 35-year-old non-profit public art organization that engages youth with professional artists in creating murals and mosaics.

We're inviting you and your students to participate in CITYarts 50 States of Peace Initiative, which was envisioned as a uniting response to the challenging times we, the people of the USA, have experienced during the harsh realities of the pandemic years & beyond.

As co-members, we hope you can connect us with middle schools and high schools to create CITYarts Pieces for Peace artworks in workshops that will lead to an exhibition and a peace wall/mural.

For the schools to be included in CITYarts 50 States of Peace, the first and only required condition is an hour-long CITYarts Pieces for Peace workshop in which a teacher will guide students in creating 6x6 inches artwork that answers the question, “What does peace look like to me? Each artwork will be uploaded to CITYarts’ Online Exhibition, where students can see for themselves the impact they generate and gain confidence in their ability to unite and enact change. Following the workshop's completion, schools will be invited to exhibit the artworks in a public space together with CITYarts’ Pieces for Peace International Traveling Exhibition, which has been displayed in 18 countries to date!

The artworks created during the workshops can also inspire a CITYarts’ Peace Wall mural in your community.

Please contact us via email at pieces4peace@cityarts.org

We are looking forward to hearing from you soon,

Stay Healthy and Hopeful,
Tsipi
