John,

In response to your question about interactive sound installations, Discovery Green, a park in downtown Houston, is currently featuring Hello, Trees! A Walking Serenade, created by Daily tous les jours of Montreal. It features a series of arches installed beneath an allée of live oak trees. When a visitor speaks into one of the two input stations at either end, their words are progressively transformed into light pulses and musical tones as they progress through the promenade. More information is in the attached press release or on our website at http://www.discoverygreen.com/hellotrees.

The Serenbe Institute (GA) is looking for examples of public art sound installations that can be activated by passing observers.

Thanks

Hi Julia and PAN,

RE: Sample artist agreement for an artist-in-residence

We recently hired an artist to work with us for a very brief artist-in-residence. Below is a sampling of what was done for the scope (we used the standard template for our department, which is mostly geared towards performing artist groups). We were working on a tight deadline and budget - but for a larger scale project with more time and dedicated funding, we would definitely run this through our legal team too. Hope this helps!

Hello, colleagues!

If anyone has hosted an artist-in-residence with a government agency, I’d love to see a sample contract/agreement.  I’m particularly interested in how you’ve phrased the scope of work.

Thanks!!

Best,
